Information for Patients

Deciding to participate in clinical trials is a personal choice. At Aperio Clinical Research, we strive to provide comprehensive patient information to help you understand what clinical trials entail and whether participation in clinical trials is the right option for you.

What is a clinical trial?

A clinical trial is a research study designed to evaluate new treatments, medications, or approaches to care. These clinical trials adhere to strict ethical and safety guidelines and receive approval from regulatory and ethics committees before they commence. Participation in clinical trials is always voluntary and patients can withdraw from a study at any time. For more detailed patient information, interested individuals are encouraged to consult with the research team.

We are selective about the clinical trials we run, ensuring that each participant in clinical trials receives the appropriate time, attention and continuity of care, along with comprehensive patient information.

What to expect if you take part

Participating in clinical trials involves a step-by-step process and our team is dedicated to guiding you through each stage of your journey.

We begin with an initial conversation to understand your situation and determine whether participation in clinical trials may be suitable for you. You will receive clear, plain-language explanations of what participation involves before you make any decisions. Throughout the study, you will have scheduled visits and ongoing monitoring with the research team.

Additionally, we provide ongoing opportunities for you to ask questions and discuss any concerns you may have. You also have the freedom to withdraw from a study at any time, without affecting your usual care.
